Posted by mikebdoss at February 15, 2007 11:25 PMOne day there was a man who discovered a piece of wisdom along the side of the road. The Devil and the angel Micheal watched from a far. The man read the wisdom and jumped up and down with joy and glorified this tiny piece of great insight. He ran to one town and another expressing this great piece and brought many to know of the wisdom. And the masses, they too were so in love with this wisdom that, eventually, they turned it into a religion or should I say many relgions. Micheal turned to Satan and asked 'Arn't you suppose to stop this one and what he is doing? Won't this hurt your cause?' and Satan said 'No! certainly not. For it is only a piece and let then savor and keep it to their hearts. I know there is more than what was in that wisdom and as long as they keep it and not the whole, they will become mine. So, let them savor what is only part of the truth and they will be mine for ever.' This is a paraprase of the auther Jidu Krisnamurti, a once Hindu who died recently, who renounced his belief and became an atheist. Isn't the story similar to what is going on today with these radical fundamentalists, on either side, who can't see more than what they want. We have as atheists proven logically, ethically, and metaphysically, that systems like religions and politcal systems along with psychology is a hindrance rather than a greatness to mankind and its need to grow or in our argument evolve. I am a serious strong atheist who will not stand for repression, opression, or rejection. I am an American who believes in the constitution and the rights of all and will not take to the side so that religious Arians can dictate to me how I should live. I would like to attend this meeting on Mar 13, hopefully to meet and greet my fellow atheistic brotherhood and sisterhood. Hope you like the story. Thanx! RebelBob
