Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief - Part Three Screening

Niko sent me this, and says it’s well attended and a good time. Who are we to not believe him?

The third and final part of “Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief” will be shown on Thursday, August 23rd at 7:30 PM in the Community Meeting room on the third floor of the Laguna Beach Wells Fargo Bank building, 260 Ocean Ave. Jonathan Miller completes his journey exploring the origins of his own lack of supernatural belief and uncovering the hidden story of atheism.

Part III, The Final Hour, illuminates the theories and philosophies of influential thinkers like Thomas Paine, Charles Darwin and Sigmund Freud, as well as their impact on the way we see religion today. Jonathan Miller examines his own motivation behind making the series touching on the issues of death and the religious fanaticism of the 21st century. This final part includes interviews with Simon Schaffer, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins, Colin McGinn and quotations by many other freethinkers.

All are welcome and admission is free, but unfortunately, for August, parking is not. Presented by Atheists United – Laguna Beach and sponsored by Atheists United, Inc. of Los Angeles. Hosted by Laguna Beach resident Niko Theris.
