Orange County Atheists

With "In God We Trust" falling by the wayside, we've kinda lost focus on the other things that city councils are doing - namely, invocations. As we've discussed before, some cities are worse than others in terms of their offenses, but it's my firm belief that we could get a lot done with just a few people willing to going to their city's meetings and meet with officials (together with others in OC Atheists). Atheist activist and musician Dan Barker will be appearing next week at UCI. Here's the event information:

Thursday Feb 19th

The event will be broken into three sections of about an hour each: Speech, Q&A, and mixing.

We're also going to have copies of Dan Barker's new book on sale and available for signing afterwords as well in addition to our own t-shirts.

The Next Orange County Atheists meeting will take place Saturday, February 28 at 6:30PM at the International House of Pancakes at 18542 MacArthur Blvd in Irvine, near John Wayne Airport. In addition to our standard dinner and discussion, new American Atheists president Ed Buckner will be joining us and talking about what's happening with the national group.
